Bonjour: A Room With a View

Hello, Bonjour,

Here we are. In beautiful Paris. The City of Light.

We are staying in the 8eme arrondissement this trip, a change for us.

It's a quiet old neighborhood on the right bank with not much action in way of restaurants or nightlife. It is mostly businessmen and residential, a bit formal for my tastes and very few speak English (or want to!).

However, everything is within a 20 minute walk from our home base, and thankfully, there is an authentic English pub next door called The Bowler. They are open till 2 a.m. for my late night snacking, serving burgers, pints and other traditional British fare. Maybe I will become a soccer fan (they have 19 televisions showing soccer and rugby).

We are on the top floor of a 5 story Haussmann building with a balcon filant (a long railed balcony going all the way around), and when I say huge balcony, I mean HUGE!

I know you like a tour, so here it is................

The dining room is perfect for a dinner party, too bad we don't know anyone in Paris to invite!

Do you like RED? Cause the kitchen is a HUGE 4 sided red lacquer kitchen w/ 2 DeDietrich ovens and some sort of weird convection cooktop, which I will not be using (you are only seeing half the kitchen, it is really red and really big).

No, you are not in the queen's home, you are in Staceyville.....the living room is ridiculous, more of a "grande salon", and way too big for 2 people, but I'm not complaining.

I love being surrounded by all the formal French furniture and antiques, especially when I am walking around in my underwear.

There is a long hallway with a stained glass window and bar, and 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. You never know what you are getting when you rent an apartment via the internet, but I certainly have no complaints!

You can see the top of the Eiffel Tower at night from our windows and hear a pin drop.

Stay tuned for more adventures......

xo

Wow! Gorgeous! How fun for you...and who knows who you might bump into and invite for dinner!
What a place. Looks like from the comments above you have plenty of us who would be glad to be at that fabulous dining room table or in the second bedroom.

Have fun. Love the balcony.

I finally have internet at home and have enjoyed catching up on your posts. This made me sigh. We stayed in the same arrondisement and had almost the same living room and dining room and view. Our kitchen was not red though. Hope you are loving it all.
