May Random Bites

Some random bites in the very merry month of May.........

I had a delicious individual tart from Once Upon a Tart in Soho.
Now why can't I fan my vegetables like this?



These are the very best anchovies money can buy.
They are white anchovies and you can find them vacuum packed at Italian markets if you are lucky. They are not salty like regular choves, but sweet, and have no hairy sides. I LOVE THEM.
Served as part of an antipasto platter or on bruschetta, you can't lose.



I made a great salad of sliced, grilled chicken breasts w/ fresh mozzarella and roasted pepper slices. I made a fig vinaigrette and served the layered chicken/peppers/mozzarella over heirloom lettuces. Not really traditional, but delicious.



A kid and an allium, both ready to bloom.............

Your chicken breast/mozz. salad looks so inviting and your neighbor is adorable. I walked by "Once Upon A Tart" the other day and I always like the vibe that place gives off. WHERE DO YOU BUY THOSE ANCHOVIES? I want some.

So far, I've compiled a mental list of recipes I'd love to have from your photos-- egg salad, those chocolate cookies from the Silpat post and the fig vinaigrette. I love figs, too.

I love Once upon a Tart! Used to work around the corner and would drop in there to pick up a tart or two for lunch. Those anchovies do look pretty good. where did you get them?
